Tawau: The Holy Trinity Primary and Secondary School and St Ursula Secondary School ‘s students and teachers during the 1960-1990 period are set to meet again in a reunion dinner scheduled for May 2.
The function initiated by former students are now busy preparing for the event and are confident of bringing back a big numbers of former classmates as well as schoolmates.
“We had made contact with former classmates and ex-students as far as Vietnam, India and Australia,” Jerome Lim said. Lim, a former student of Holy Trinity, is leading a six-member committee in grouping together as many as possible of the ten of thousands who had their education in the schools.
“We are also looking for teachers during the 1960-1990 period to be with us at the dinner.” Lim said.
Holy Trinity School, the first English school in Tawau is a mission school set up in 1922, blessed by Rev. Father Stotter of the Catholic Mission from Sandakan.
St. Ursula Convent was set up in 1966 and is an all-girl school.
Meanwhile, Mary Bernitiz. an ex student at St. Ursula in her mid 70s urged her old friends to come and join as it would be the first time such a grand event involving former students of the schools.
